This week has got to be the worst week for the last 20 years of my life...

To make things short, little things have gotten big & they start to irritate me...
For a start, my project presentation did not go well - as I thought it would - purely because we had the toughest marker in the whole University; but on the other side, I did get a lot of help out of him. So it was very disappointing for me, after putting all of the effort & trying to make everyone happy [which I knew was impossible to do, as there are about 4 different personalities to please].

Secondly, I am officially NOT going to the study trip to Spain, because my Head Tutor was late in giving me the official letter from the University to obtain my visa & he had to book the flight today - which of course I did not even have the appointment date yet! So, BYE BYE Spain!!!

Thirdly, I have not feeling very well this last couple of days; been stressing over the project & the History essay [Whatever history got to do with contemporary Architecture] & all sorts of things...

Fourthly, [FOURTHLY sounds really funny & weird for some reason...but anyhow...continue on] there is one more thing which made me sad; but I shall leave it at that... It was all my fault to begin with, opening my eyes & my heart...

PS: Yes! I agree men are stupid; but men can REALLY be EXTREMELY stupid when it comes to loving someone. They just never learn...

Anyway, despite all the trouble, I trust that God is trying to signal something to me... I hope I will pick it up soon!

Merry Christmas 2006 & A Happy New Year 2007

For the last few days, I have been staying in Luton Town with my housemate's family.
Luton Town is situated somewhere on the outskirt of London, quite a distance from London actually - but what I do not get is that Luton Town is bigger than Brighton City - where a 'city' should be bigger than a 'town'.

Luton Town has an international airport which connect England to the whole of Europe - that is probably the main feature of Luton Town.

Anyway, it was very nice to spend Christmas with someone; we had a proper Christmas dinner; they even gave me presents!!! Not the best, but still at least I did not sit there awkwardly looking at them unwrapping their presents; so it was good on them that they thought of me [I am never much of a present person anyway].

The few days I spent there was just basically a time to go out; be it out to the local pub, ice-skating and some random places; the best two was probably when we went to Milton Keynes; a town of shopping centre and entertainment.
The whole town is a shopping centre - so you can guess how big it was and plus, it was packed as people wanted to buy presents and sales [Shame the pictures I took did not come out too well - because it was so big!].

Then Friday night, we went out clubbing to Oceana in Milton Keynes - it was the most unusual club I have ever been to; but it was good - shame I could not get any food after we finished; I was starving!

Then on the 31st, I came back to Brighton to work at night - it was packed as well; very tired now - but got paid a time & a half - so I can't complain.

Well; I have made this post longer than usual, because I lack the time to make it short - but let me say 'Merry Christmas 2006 & A Happy New Year 2007' again.

Don't get discouraged.

Defeating temptation

God has promised never to allow more on you than He puts within you to handle it. He will not permit any temptation that you could not overcome.

When you are tempted, try to;

Refocus your mind on something else. The battle for sin is won or lost in your mind.

Reveal your struggle to a Godly friend or support group. The truth is whatever you can't talk about is already out of control in your life.

Resist the devil. "Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.

Realize your vulnerability. Forget about self-confidence!

1 Corinthians 10:13b; " God is faithful. He will keep the temptation from becoming so strong that you can't stand up against it. When you are tempted, He will show you a way out so that you will never give in to it."

Temptation is an opportunity to do good, as it provides us with a choice. Everytime you choose to do good instead of sin, you are growing in the character of Christ.

God develops the fruit of the Spirit by allowing you to experience circumstances in which you're tempted to express the exact opposite quality!

To overcome temptations;

Refuse to be intimidated.

Recognize the pattern of your temptation and be prepared for it.

Request God's help.

James 1:12; "God blesses the people who patiently endure testing. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him."

Life is a series of problems. Not all are big, but they are significant in God's growth process for you.

It is when we are broken-hearted when we turn to God; and this is the time when He is closest to us. When we are in pain, we don't have the energy for superficial prayers.

"When life is rosy, we may slide by with knowing about Jesus, with imitating Him and quoting Him and speaking of Him. But only in suffering will we know Jesus!" - Joni Eareckson Tada.

Your most profound and intimate experiences of worship will be most likely be in your darkest days.

"We felt we were doomed to die and saw how powerless we were to help ourselves; but that was good, for then we put everything into the hands of God, who alone could save us."

You'll never know that God is all you need until God is all you've got!

Our problems are to shape us; to burn us until we are pure as gold or silver. It is when people see their reflection when the silver is pure - it is the same to us; it is when people see the reflection of Jesus when we are purest.

Romans 8:28; "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose."

Protecting your church

Nothing on earth is more valuable to God than His church. Therefore, if you are a part of a conggregation, it is your responsibility, too, to keep the family in harmony.
"Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace."

We can do this by;

Focusing on our similiarities, not our differences.

Be realistic with your expectations.

Choose to encourage rather than criticize.

Refuse to listen to gossips.

Practice God's method for conflict resolution. [Private confrontation, brothers confrontation, church confrontation.]

Support your pastors and your leaders. [We protect the fellowship when we honour those woh serve us by leading.]

Romans 14:19; "Let us concentrate on the things which make for harmony and the growth of our fellowship together."

Restoring broken fellowship

Paul taught us that to get along with others is a mark of spiritual maturity.
"If you've gotten anything at all out of following Christ, if His love has made any difference in your life, if being in a community of the Spirit means anything to you ... Agree with each other, love each other, be deep-spirited friends."

You have to learn how to be a PEACEMAKER! Peace-making is not avoiding conflict. It is not appeasement. It is a skill to stand up against evil.

The key to restore your relationship is to talk to God before talking to the person; then take the initiative to approach the person; listen to what they have to say - sympathize with their feelings. Make sure you confess your part of the conflict as confession is the most powerful tool to reconciliation.

Be sure to attack the problem - not the person! In resolving conflicts, how you say it is as important as what you say!

Emphasize reconciliation, not resolution! Reconciliation focuses on relationship, while resolution focuses on the problem.

Romans 12:18; "Do everything possible on your part to live in peace with everybody."

Cultivating community takes HONESTY. When conflict is handled correctly, we grow closer to each other. Until you care enough to confront and resolve the underlying barriers, you will never grow close to each other.

Cultivating community takes HUMILITY. Pride builds walls between people, humility builds bridges.
"Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it is thinking of yourself less."

Cultivating community takes COURTESY. The key is to discover where people come from; and to learn their history.

Cultivating community takes CONDIFENTIALITY. It doesn't mean that it should be kept silent; but it means to deal with it and NOT to gossip about whatever it is.

Cultivating community takes FREQUENCY. Community is not built on CONVENIENCE, but on CONVICTION that we need it for spiritual health. Fellowship requires an investment of time.

Through relationship, we can learn three important truths.

The best use of life is LOVE: Life is worthless without love. After we learn how to love God, we have to learn how to love each other. We must know that love is eternal!

2. The best expression of love is TIME: The greatest gift you can give to someone is your TIME! You can give without loving, but you cannot love without giving!

When God seems distant

"Any relationship involves times of closeness and times of distance, and in a relationship with God, no matter how intimate, the pendulum will swing from one side to the other." - Philip Yancey.

God admits that sometimes He hides His face from us.

"I go east, but He is not there. I go west, but I cannot find Him. I do not see Him in the north, for He is hidden. I turn to the south, but I cannot find Him. But He knows where I am going. And when He has tested me like gold in fire, he will pronounce me innocent."

When God seems to be distant, it is NOT because of our sins. Sins do not separate us from God!
It is simply a test of faith. Will you continue to love, trust, obey, and worship God, even when you have no sense of His presence or visible evidence of His work in your life?

The most common mistake Christian makes in worship today is seeking an experience rather than seeking God.

When you feel that God is distant; you need to:

TELL GOD HOW YOU FEEL - Pour out your heart to Him. This is also an act of Faith!

FOCUS ON WHO GOD IS - HIS UNCHANGING NATURE - "Never doubt in the dark what God told you in the light."

TRUST GOD TO KEEP HIS PROMISES - You need to trust Him and ignore your immediate human feelings.

REMEMBER WHAT GOD HAS ALREADY DONE FOR YOU - "Christ was without sin, but fir our sake God made Him share our sin in order that in union with Hm we might share the righteousness of God."

Jesus gave up everything so you could have everything. That 'alone' is worthy of your continual praise and thanks. Never again should you wonder what you have to be thankful for.

Hebrew 13:5; "For God has said, 'I will never leave you; I will never abandon you.' "

Worship that pleases God

God requires ALL of you; not only parts of you!

God is pleased when our worship is;

ACCURATE - is to worship Him as the way He is revealed in the Bible, not as to our imagination.

AUTHENTIC - is when we worship deeply emotional and deeply doctrinal. We use both our heart and head. The best style of worship is one that most authentically represents your love for God.

You don't bring glory to God by trying to be someone He never intended you to be.
"That's the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before Him in their worship."

THOUGHTFUL - when our worship is specific. Use different phrases and call Him with His various names.

PRACTICAL - Real worship costs. Real worship is rooted in the Word. One thing worship costs us is our self-centeredness. You cannot exalt God and yourself at the same time.

Worship is more than a song!

Developing your friendship with God

You must be honest to God. God does not expect you to be perfect, but He expects you to be honest.

To be God's friends, you must be honest to God, sharing your true feeling, not what you think tou ought to feel or say.

Bitterness is the greatest barrier to friendship with God.

Expressing doubts is sometimes the first step toward the next level of intimacy with God.

You must obey God in faith. "I have loved you as the Father has loved Me. Remain in My love. When you obey Me, you remain in My love, just as I obey My Father and remain in His love. I have told you this so that you will be filled with My joy. Yes, your joy will overflow."

God is more pleased when we do small things for Him out of loving obedience.

You must value what God values. The more you become God's friends, the more you care about the things He cares about.

You must desire a friendship with God more than anything else.
"My determined purpose is that I may know Him - that I may progressively become more deeply and intimate acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly."

You are as close to God as you choose to be; and don't be surprised when God allows pain in your life.

Pain is the fuel of passion - it energizes us with an intensity to change that we don't normally possess.
C. S. Lewis said, "Pain is God's megaphone." It is His way of arousing us from spiritual lethargy.

Your problems are not punishment, they are wake-up calls from a loving God. He is not mad at you, He is mad about you and He will do whatever it takes to bring you back into the fellowship with Him. But there is an easy way to re-ignite your fellowship - it is by ASKING Him for a new relationship bond again.
"When you get serious about finding Me and want it more than anything else, I'll make sure you won't be disappointed."

There is nothing more important than a relationship with God!
"Some of these people have missed the most important thing in life - they don't know God."

James 4:8a; "Draw close to God, and He will draw close to you."

Becoming best friends with God

Through constant conversation. Everything you do can be spending time with God; if He is invited to be a part of it and you stay aware of His presence.
The key to friendship with God is not changing what you do, but changing your attitude toward what you do.

We don't praise God to feel good, but to do good. Your goal is not a feeling, but a continual awareness of the reality that God is always present.

Through continual meditation. You can't love God without knowing Him; and you can't know Him unless you know His Word.
Meditation is simply focused thinking - a skill anyone can use anytime anywhere.

When you think about a problem over and over, that's called WORRY. If you already know how to worry, then you already know how to meditate.

Prayer lets you speak to God. Meditation lets God speak to you.

Psalm 25:14a; "Friendship with God is reserved for those who reverence Him."

The heart of Worship

The heart of worship is surrendering. Surrendering to God is the heart of worship.

True worship is when you bring yourself to God completely; thus surrendering yourself.
You know you are surrendering to God when you rely on God to work things out instead of trying to manipulate others, force your agenda, and control the situation.

There are three barriers in life that keep us from surrendering; FEAR, PRIDE and CONFUSION.

First, we need to trust Him; and the more we know that He loves us, the less fear we will have.
"Love casts away all fear."

After doing this, we need to admit our limitation and therefore break down our pride.
A. W. Tozer said, "The reason why many are still troubled, still seeking, still making little forward progress is because they haven't yet come to the end of themselves. We're still trying to give orders, and interfering with God's work within us."

"The greatness of a man's power is in the measure of his surrender." - William Booth.

Surrender is not the best way to live; it is the only way to live. Nothing else works.

When you decided to live a totally surrendered life, that decision will be tested. Sometimes it will mean doing inconvenient, unpopular, costly, or seemingly impossible tasks. It will often mean doing the opposite of what you feel like doing.

Romans 6:13b; "Surrender your whole being to Him to be used for righteous purposes."

What makes God smile?

The smile of God is the goal of your life. We need to find out how to do this.

God smiles when we love Him supremely. He wants to have a relationship to us.
"I don't want your sacrifices, I want your love; I don't want your offerings - I want you to know Me."

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment."

God smiles when we trust Him completely. "He takes pleasure in those that honour Him; in those who trust His constant love."
Just as parents are pleased when children trust their love and wisdom, your faith makes God happy. "Without faith it is impossible to please God."

God smiles when we obey Him wholeheartedly. This means doing something God asks without reservation or hesitation. It is an instant obedience; and this means that you love Him.
"If you love me, you will obey my commandments."

God smiles when we thank and praise Him constantly.

God smiles when we use our abilities.

Psalm 147: 11; "The Lord is pleased with those who worship Him and trust His love."

One of the greatest gifts God has given you is the ability to enjoy pleasures.

Anything you do that brings pleasure to God is an act of worship. Worship is a lifestyle; it is more than music. Worship is not a part of your life; it is your life. This means that you can worship when you are eating, drinking, sleeping or working.

Work becomes a worship when you dedicate it to God and perform it with an awareness of His presence.

Worship is like when you fall in love with a girl or a boy. You constantly think of them no matter what you are doing. This is what real worship is all about - falling in love with Jesus Christ!

The reason for everything

Living for God's glory is our greatest achievement we can accomplish with our lives.

How can I bring glory to God?
When anything in creation fulfills its purpose, it brings glory to God. The glory of God is a human being fully alive!

We bring glory by worshipping Him; to be motivated by love, thanksgiving, and delight, not duty.

We bring glory by loving other believers. "Accept each other just as Christ has accepted you; then God will be glorified."
"As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you live one another."

We bring glory by becoming like Christ; by going through the character process He has prepared for us.

We bring glory by serving others with our gifts and talents.

We bring glory by telling others about Him. "As God's grace brings more and more people to Christ, ... God will receive more and more glory."

What will you live for?
"Everything that goes into a life of pleasing God has been miraculously given to us by getting to know, personally and intimately, the One who invited us to God."

Jesus will give you everything you need to live for Him. It is a matter of BELIEVING & RECEIVING.

Romans 11:36; "For everything comes from God alone. Everything lives by His power, and everything is for His glory."

Your identity is eternity. Your homeland is heaven. When you grasp this truth, you will stop worrying about 'having it all' on earth.

"Friends, this world is not your home, so don't make yourself cozy in it. Don't indulge your ego at the expense of your soul."

"All that is not eternal is eternally useless." - C. S. Lewis

In God's eyes, the greatest heroes of faith are not those who achieve prosperity, success, and power in this life, but those who treat this life as a temporary assignment and serve faithfully, expecting their promised reward in eternity.

"All these great people died in faith. They did not get the things that God promised His people, but they saw them coming far in the future and were glad. They said they were like visitors and strangers on earth ... they were waiting for a better country - a heavenly country. So God is not ashamed to be called their God, because He has prepared a city for them."

When life gets tough, when you're overwhelmed with doubt, or when you wonder if living for Christ is worth the effort, remember that you're not home yet. At death you won't leave home - you'll go home.

Seeing Life from God's View

The way you see life shapes your life.

What is your view of life? To fulfill the purposes God made you for, you will have to challenge conventional wisdom and replace it with the biblical metaphos of life.

The three metaphors are;

Life is a test
Life is a trust
Life is a temporary assignment

LIFE IS A TEST
God continually test people's characters, faith, obedience, love, integrity, and loyalty.
Character is developed and revealed by tests.

You will be tested by major changes, delay promises, impossible poblems, unanswered prayers, undeserved criticism, and even senseless tragedies.

God tests our faith through problems, tests hope by how we handle possessions, and test our love through people.

A very important test is how you act when you can't feel God's presence in your life.

When you understand that life is a test, you realize that nothing is insignificant in your life. Even the smallest incident has significance for your character development. Everyday is an important day, and every second is a growth opportunity to deepen your character, to demonstrate love, or to depend on God.

"God keep His promise, and He will not allow you to be tested beyond your power to remain firm; at the time you are put to the test, He will give you the strenght to endure it, and so provide you with a way out."

"Blessed are those who endure when the are tested. When they pass the test, they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him."

LIFE IS A TRUST
Our life is being trsuted to us by God. We belong to Him. The first job He gave us was to 'manage' and 'take care' of our life and all the things on earth.

"Those who are trusted with something valuable must show that they are worthy of that trust."

If we treat everything as a trust, God will;

Give an affirmation - He will say, "Good job! Well done!"
Give a promotion - He will say, "I will put you in charge of many things."
Give a celebration - He will say, "Come and share you Master's happiness."

"If you are untrustworthy about worldly wealth, who will trust you with the true riches of heaven?"

Life is like a test and a trust, and the more God gives you, the more responsible He expects you to be.

Luke 16:10a; "Unless you are faithful in small matters, you won't be faithful in large ones."

This life is preparation for next. The closer you live to God, the smaller everything else appear. When you live in light of eternity, your values change.

The most damaging aspect of contemporary living is short-term thinking. There is more to life than just here and now! Eternity is all the rest you don't see underneath the surface.

“For us this is the end of all the stories … But for them it was only the beginning of the real story. All their life in this world had only been the cover and the title page: now at last they were beginning Chapter One of the Great Story, which no one on earth has read, which goes on forever and which every chapter is better than the one before.” – C. Only a fool would go through life unprepared for what we all know will eventually happen.

Measured against eternity, our time on earth is a blink of an eye, but the consequences of it will last forever.

It would be wise to live each day as if it were the last day of our life. As Matthew Henry said, "It ought to be the business of everyday to prepare for our final day."

The 5 main circumstances, emotions & values that can drive your life;

Many people are driven by GUILT - These type of people are manipulated by their memories. God's purpose is not limited by our past. He is specialized in giving people a fresh start! - "What happiness for those whose guilt has been forgiven! ... What a relief for those who have confessed their sins and God has cleared their record.
Many people are driven by RESENTMENT AND ANGER - Those who have hurt you in the past cannot continue to hurt you now unless you hold onto the pain through resentment. - "To worry yourself to death with resentment would be a foolish, senseless thing to do."
Many people are driven by FEAR - Fear is a self-imposed prison that will keep you from becoming what God wants you to be. You can defeat it through Faith & Love. "Well-formed love banishes fear."
Many people are driven by MATERIALISM - This tends to drive people to wanting to possess more. Possession only provide temporary happiness.
Many people are driven by THE NEED FOR APPROVAL - This includes expectations from parents and peer-pressure.

By KNOWING your purpose;

Your life has a meaning
Your life is simplified - "A pretentious, showy life is an empty life; a plain and simple life is a full life."
Your life becomes focused
Your life becomes motivated
You becomes prepared for ETERNITY

In the end, God will asks us 2 questions;

"What did you do with My Son, Jesus Christ?"
"What did you do with what I gave you?

The 1st question will determine where you spend eternity.
The 2nd question will determine what you do in eternity.

You were born by His purpose and for His purpose.

The Bible says; "Obsession with self in these matters is a dead end; attention to God leads us out into the open, into spacious, free life."

To find the purpose, you must not be SELF-CENTERED; for the Bible says; "Self-help is no help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, My way, to finding yourself; your true self."

God is, not only the starting point of your life, but He is the source of it & to discover your purpose, you have to turn to His Words [The Bible] - not the world's wisdom. This means that you have to build a relationship with Jesus Christ!

"It's in Christ that we found out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, He had His eyes on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose He is working out in everything and everyone."

A Weekend in London

A weekend in London - for the first time, was quite a journey. A 3 hours trip on my friend's car was quite an experience; such a small car.

Then slept the night in Richmond, had some Arabic dish. Then an early night in order to get up for an early Saturday morning.

Saturday morning; out the house at 8a.m - went to some art exhibitions and the day went so fast.

It was already late night when we walked home... about 10.30p.m - didn't feel like we walked for almost 15 hours!

The above picture is at Southbank - overlooking the Westminster Palace and Big Ben [which was not even BIG].

It was a loverly weekend! Thanks to God - then Mazin & family, who let me stayed at his joint & ate & took me around to places; then to Kush, who gave me a ride to London.

It was an unforgetable weekend all around.

Christmas is near!

It has been another quick year again for us [well at least for me].
We are approcahing Christmas, would you believe it or not? This Christmas is going to be slightly different..actually; VERY different - I'll be in Brighton with my sister [hopefully] ~ not with my family in Indonesia.
So, it's going to be very interesting...might cook up a storm...might do the good-old Chris-Cringle - but then again, we might just go to CCK and have a nice dinner [I'm actually thinking of Pablo's here].

Our flat is excited for sure - we're gonna do the 'Secret Santa' ~ which is a Brisith version of Chris-Cringle basically. It is under £10; so - have to start present-hunting soon!!!

Kekuatan - Menghadapi Kehilangan Sesuatu

Semua orang pasti pernah kecewa; namun Yesus memperingatkan bahwa hal-hal yang mengecewakan pasti akan datang, tetapi "Berbahagialah orang yang tidak menjadi kecewa..." [Matius 11:6; 13:21; 13:57; 15:12 24:10].

Renungkanlah kisah hidup rasul Paulus, yang bersaksi bahwa ia telah "kehilangan semuanya," namun ia memperoleh kemenangan besar sebab hatinya tidak diarahkan kepada apa pun yang telah hilang itu!

Allah tidak pernah bermaksud agar harapan-harapan kita bisa dipenuhi di dalam manusia lain ~ pasangan hidup, anak, teman, karir, atau kesuksesan dalam bidang lain.

Sikap kita terhadap harta di bumi ini haruslah ~ "Semua itu hanya dipinjamkan kepada saya." - Seperti sikap Ayub saat segala yang ia miliki lenyap begitu saja di hadapannya; namun Ayub menyembah, "Tuhan yang memberi, Tuhan yang mengambil" [Ayub 1:21-22].
Ini membuktikan bahwa hatinya diarahkan kepada Allah, bukan kepada berkat-berkat!

Allah memiliki rencana yang jauh lebih baik di benak-Nya, Ia pun dapat menyelamatkan kita dari situasi-situasi yang akan kita sesali di kemudian hari.
Hanya Bapa saja yang tahu apa yang terbaik dan apa yang akan sungguh-sungguh membuat kita bahagia pada akhirnya.

~ Persetujuan siapakah yang kita cari - Allah atau manusia?~

Marilah kita meminta kasih karunia yang khusus untuk mengatasi segala kekecewaan dan saat kita sudah berhasil menghadapi kekecewaan & kehilangan sesuatu; maka kita akan memiliki sifat Kepemimpinan yang tinggi.

Pengharapan dan sukacita kita haruslah berpusat di dalam Dia [Mazmur 62:5; Yeremia 15:16].

Kekuatan - Tidak Dihancurkan Oleh Kesuksesan

Pertama-tama, puji Tuhan Yesus Kristus yang telah sangat baik kepada keluargaku.
Segala puji syukur hanya bagi Yesus yang selalu mencukupkan & melimpahkan kami dengan berkat Ilahi. Terima kasih juga untuk kemurahan-Nya yang membiarkan kami terus berada di 'ambang' kehancuran; namun selalu memulihkan kami terus menerus - sebagai sarana bagi kami untuk tetap bergantung sepenuhnya kepada KASIH KARUNIA dari Bapa.
Tiada henti-hentinya mulut kami mengucap syukur kepada-Mu Bapa - sebab segala yang kami miliki dulu, sekarang dan di masa depan, dari Engkau-lah datangnya.
Ampuni kami apabila kami mulai menjadi sombong dan tinggi hati dan menyimpang dari jalan-Mu. Jagailah hati kami & mampukanlah kami menjalani hari demi hari selalu bergantung sepenuhnya di dalam KEMURAHAN KASIH-Mu.

Kedengarannya memang sangat berlawanan, kalau kita katakan bahwa kesulitan-kesulitan lebih mudah ditangani daripada berkat yang berlimpah.
Namun pada kenyataannya, 'masalah' membuat orang datang kepada Allah untuk meminta pertolongan; tetapi setelah kita tersebut berada di puncak gunung berkat - tanpa kita sadari rasa terlalu 'percaya diri &kesombongan' mulai merangkak masuk!

Berkat-berkat khusus, karunia-karunia yang istimewa & sukses menggoda manusia untuk berpikir bahwa ia diperkenan Allah secara khusus melebihi orang-orang yang lain.
[Ulangan 17:20 & 2 Korintus 12:6-10]

Justru - KESEJAHTERAAN dapat membuat kita lupa akan Allah. [Ulangan 6:10-13; 8:7-20 & Yeremia 22:21]
Hati manusia cenderung menjadi sombong dalam sekejap & tidak seorang pun terkecualikan dari hal ini. Inilah sifat manusia yang sesungguhnya! [Contoh: Para pengkhotbah yang menyombongkan gereja mereka & juga para petobat yang masih baru itu pada khususnya mudah diserang oleh kesombongan.]

Bila kita menyombongkan diri, maka kita telah menyimpang dari sasaran sejati - yaitu memuliakan nama Allah Bapa.
Inilah alasannya Allah tidak cepat-cepat memberikan harta Ilahi kita [Amsal 20:21 & 1 Timotius 3:6]. Allah menunggu sampai kita dewasa [1 Petrus 5:6].

Inilah alasan dari penganiayaan akan para rasul di kitab Kisah Para Rasul. Inilah yang dimaksud akan Kemurahan Allah!
Oleh karena itu, marilah kita bersuka dalam keadaan yang lemah, terhina, kekurangan, dianiaya, tertekan oleh Kristus; sebab tatkala kita dilemahkan dengan cara ini - kita benar-benar DIKUATKAN!
Marilah kita memiliki pengertian seperti Paulus, bahwa - lebih baik kita terus menerus berada di dalam keadaan yang sulit supaya kita terus bergantung dan melekat kepada Yesus!
Milikilah 'Duri dalam daging', supaya kita tidak menjauh dari Allah oleh karena kenikmatan-kenikmatan jasmani & materi.

Mengatasi Kegagalan Adalah Tanda Dari Kekuatan

Di dalam kehidupan, tentu saja manusia, hari demi hari, menghadapi kegagalan. Bagi manusia, kegagalan kadang sulit untuk diterima - namun, apabila Anak Allah mengalami kegagalan - Ia akan selalu bersyukur, sebab ia memiliki cara pandang surgawi.

Dalam pertimbangan Allah, ada saat-saat di mana lebih baik bagi kita untuk mengalami kegagalan daripada keberhasilan. Kelembutan dan belas-kasihan timbul dari kegagalan-kegagalan yang parah yang kita alami, kalau kita tidak membiarkan diri kita menjadi pahit dan menyerah.
Kegagalan pribadi menolong kita untuk menyingkirkan kritik dan kekerasan dari hati kita. Kesombongan dan sikap aku tidak pernah keliru mendapat pukulan maut tatkala kita mengalami kegagalan. Niat Allah yang utama justru untuk memberkati kita dengan luar biasa.

Setan diijinkan untuk mencobai kita bila kita membuat pernyataan-pernyataan yang terlalu berani seperti di dalam Matius 14:19-31 & Lukas 22:31-34.

Tanda dari kekuatan dan karakter adalah kemampuan kita untuk bangkit kembali dari kegagalan kita.
Sifat 'angkat tangan' terhadap diri kita dan terhadap Allah menunjukkan bahwa kita lemah rohani.
Oleh karena itu, marilah kita menjadi umat Allah yang sejati & menyerahkan kegagalan kita kepada Kristus & terus mengikuti Tuhan dengan segenap hati kita.

Korean??? Who??? Me??? Again???

Sunday night was wicked! I went to church...& surprisingly, it was the first time I actually was on-time! How exciting it was...
The overall service was up-liftingl but the Word was boring as it was more like a seminar rather than a preaching; since yesterday was a Rememberance day...
But, on the other side - I met a group of Korean guys and girls...who unexpectedly started speaking to me in their own language [Korean - presumably]; right before I shattered their miserable dreams of me NOT being a Korean...

But it was cool...we met, we talked, we introduced ourselves [of course] & being me...I am never any good with remembering names...I only remembered Rai, Lee and Seo...the girls?? I have no clue...I completely forgot; as if I just had a brain-wash.

And also, they invited me to the cuhrch they normally go to...a Korean church!!! So, next week I will be going to their church...I think*.
So, hopefully, once i get there - people won't talk to me in Korean - otherwise I am gonna feel like such a 'baddy', coz i will be shattering their miserable dreams...not just 1 or 2 or 3....hundreds of them!!!

But I must admit that it is not the 1st time people thought I was a Korean - lucky my haircolor is back to normal again - if it was still red-ish like it used to be; I am sure that they will not believe me when I say that I am not a Korean...
Anyway - I just realized that next Sunday service will be carried out in Korean...So here I am thinking how I am going to understand it...I hope the Holy Spirit will translate it for me or I can always start learning Korean now...

It was so...touching [even though it didn't mean much to me - being me & all...], but yeah, I thought it was a mini series drama, but it turned out to be a 90 minutes Korean movie.
It is hilarious!!!

Orang yang benar-benar rendah hati memiliki ketenangan dalam jiwanya. [Matius 11:28-29].

Ia tidak suka berpura-pura atau bersandiwara. Ia tidak merasa perlu membuktikan diri, mempertahankan diri, dan tidak takut kehilangan apa pun.
Ia BEBAS & memiliki EMOSI YANG STABIL.

Justru sebaliknya, orang yang sombong memiliki keakuan yang besar. Sifat keakuan inilah yang membuat kita mudah tersinggung dan sakit hati, menimbulkan banyak konflik lainnya.
